Ecuador required a quarantine of 10 days before we could hike outdoors. Climbing from 10,000 Feet (3,048 meters) sleeping in Quito to the possibility of summiting Chimborazo at 20,000 Feet (6,096 meters) was the challenge we desired. The obstacle of quarantining made climbing in Ecuador impossible. It was discouraging to have this setback.
During the Pandemic, the world experienced a lot of changes, adaptations, adjustments, requirements, and much more were made. As a result, some people developed faith and gained confidence in their ability to overcome. Others developed fear-based thinking, finding the dark side of every opportunity without seeking to overcome the obstacles presented.
"We believe everything happens for a reason."

We decided to look for another series of mountains that did not have the quarantine limitation. I heard a voice from above encouraging me to look at previous trips to Ecuador. And then I started remembering…
My Mom passed away suddenly in 2017, when we were going on our first climbing expedition to South America. You can read that story in my e-book chapter from the international best-selling book Rise in Pursuit of Empowerment edited by Sabine Matharu. (Link below).

In my research for a new climbing experience to replace Ecuador, I found links to a new way of looking at the earth. In 2016 (don’t know the exact dates), the scientists studying the earth, the geologists of the world, and all the people who do those kinds of research measured every part of the world.
They measured from the center of the earth. What formation measured from the center of the earth is the highest? What formation from the sea bottom to its tallest point is the highest? What formation from the sea level is the highest? Of all the images of the entire world, mountains and volcanoes get their own name, their local name and legends are written about these obstacles.
So, I knew about the three tallest mountains in the world. Would you like to know about them too? Check in the next blog.
